A study in Dutch water systems protecting our coastlines has led to these images. The images reflect a contradiction. They reflect knowledge and control, but they also show ecological decay and the limited durability of enclosed ecosystems.

The frame is made of oak wood and untreated steel. In time the acids in the wooden parts will affect the steel parts. The frame will show an ever-changing event. This is a reference to human interference in the fragile ecosystem of the Dutch delta.
